Marion Long

Sterling - Marion Boone Long, 91, died Saturday, July 20, 2013 at Coventry Living Center. Marion was born September 4, 1921 in Detroit, MI, the daughter of Edwin "Eddie" and Margaret (Imm) Boone. She married Eugene A. Long on October 8, 1942 in Sterling. He preceded her in death on June 25, 2002. Marion was a member of Saint Paul Lutheran Church in Sterling. She had many interests including horses, water sports, global travel, and snow skiing, late in life, which she loved. For over twenty-five years, Marion and her husband enjoyed wintering in the Florida Keys and relished the many trips to Tennessee and Colorado to visit her sons and all of the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include her two sons, Dennis (Bobbie) Long of Nashville, TN, and Bruce Long of Salida, CO; five grandchildren, Matthew (Mandy) Long and Ellen (Steve) Cobble both of Chattanooga, TN, Dr.Troy (Melissa) Long and Kelly Long both of Denver, CO, and Stacy (Steve) Sesnie of Albuquerque, NM; seven great-grandchildren, Alex Long, Brennen Long, Ashley Sesnie, Sara Sesnie, Lauren Sesine, Cody Long, and Stella Cobble. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Daniel Boone. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements will be completed by Schilling Funeral Home, Sterling.
