MARJORIE LOIS RIPLEY STERLING-Marjorie Lois Ripley, 83, died, Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at Regency Care of Sterling. Marjorie was born February 16, 1935 in Prophetstown, the daughter of Leslie G. and Dorothy (Dykema) Kilberg. She married Richard “Dick” Ripley on June 16, 1963 in Prophetstown. He preceded her on death on September 9, 2009. She was a graduate of Prophetstown High School and the University of Illinois. She worked for 28 years at Select Employees Credit Union retiring as Vice-President. She was an active member of the First Congregational Church, Sterling. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, knitting, reading and the occasional glass of wine. Survivors include two sons, Scott (Brenda) Ripley of Pontiac and Gregg (Heidi) Ripley of Rock Falls and four grandchildren, Jenna Ripley, Nathan Ripley, Daniel Ripley and Paige Ripley. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one sister, Marilyn Hummel and one brother, Ronald Kilberg. Memorial service will be held at 3PM Saturday, April 21, 2018 at the First Congregational Church of Sterling-The Big Red Church, Sterling with Reverend Jeff Coester, pastor, officiating.Visitation will be from1-2:45 PM, prior to services at the church. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery, Sterling, at a later date. Memorial may be made to ALS or the Big Red Church, Sterling. Arrangements were completed by the Schilling Funeral Home and Cremation, Sterling. Condolences may be sent to www.schillingfuneralhome.com.
