Marvin Turnbaugh passed away peacefully at Resthave Nursing Home in Morrison.
Marvin was born at home in Fair Haven on Friday, February 13,1925. He was the son of Harold and Violet (Queckborner) Turnbaugh. Marvin married Sylvia Galusha on November 15,1946. After 74 years of marriage she died in November 2020.
Marvin was a farmer his entire life and lived within 1/4 mile of his birth until they moved to Sterling in 2003. He loved his animals and the land. He was a member of the Fair Haven United
Methodist Church. Marvin will always be remembered as a devoted husband and loving father. Family always came first with him. He was always there when his neighbors needed help.
We miss him dearly-his laugh, his sense of humor and his kind, loving heart.
He is survived by his daughters, Judith (Ronald) Bushman and Linda (Steve Clayworth)
Turnbaugh; two granddaughters, Christine (Mark Sotelo) Bushman and Julie (Rick Shippee)
Bushman; great-grandchildren, Sierra Sotelo and Bridgette (Jake Butler) Sotelo; one great-great granddaughter, Autumn, and many nieces and nephews.
Marvin was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sylvia and brother, Elwyn Turnbaugh.
A private graveside service for the family is pending. The family requests no flowers. Memorial monies will go to the FISH Food Pantry and Rock River Hospice. Please send memorials to Schilling Funeral Home, PO Box 592, Sterling, IL 61081 and will be forwarded to the family.
