Norris Satterly Jr

Norris J. Satterly Jr, 51, passed away December 7, 2022, at Dixon Rehabilitation. Norris was born April 29, 1971, at Wurtsmith AFB in Michigan. Son of Norris “Norm” Sr. and Hazel (Messer) Satterly. In 1992, Norris married the love of his life Angel (Baxter) Satterly at Presque Isle Park in Marquette, Michigan.

Norris graduated from Gwinn High School in Gwinn, Michigan in 1990. After graduating, he served time in the USMC. Norris worked for 20 years as a truck driver before becoming disabled.

Norris loved his family and spending time with them. He loved camping, working on his RC trucks, taking photos, writing short stories, reading comics, and watching superhero movies with his girls. Norris was also a volunteer with Safe Families for Children and was always willing to help his church and his community.

Norris will be remembered most for how deeply he loved his family, his protection of the weak, and his love for God. He will be greatly missed, but has returned home where he is running, yelling, and laughing that deep belly laugh of his, and maybe pulling a few pranks.

Norris is survived by his father, Norm Satterly of Kingsford, Michigan; wife, Angel Satterly of Dixon; twin daughters, Sarah and Rebecca, both of Dixon.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Hazel (Messer) Satterly; brother, Kurt Satterly; Son, Robert Jay “RJ” Satterly; and daughter, Margaret “Maggie” Satterly.

A celebration of life will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, December 29, 2022, at Bethel EC Church in Dixon with a potluck to follow. Please join the family in celebrating the life of Norris. There will be an open time for sharing favorite memories, but please also share photos, write stories, and your favorite memories as a tribute on Schillingfuneralhome.com: a Tribute Book will be gifted to the family.

Cremation rites have been accorded.
