Philip Hull, 79, of Sterling, died, Thursday December 28, 2017. Philip was born May 17, 1938 in Charleston, the son of Ellsworth and Helen (Wallingford) Hull. He served in the United States Air Force. He married Jessie M. Loza on September 15, 1957 in Chicago. They were married for 60 wonderful years. He was a very loving husband,father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Philip worked for the former NWS & W xCo for 30 years as a crane operator. He was an avid CBer with his call name being “Whip-poor-will" and HAM radio operator. He loved working in his yard, riding his John Deere tractor and spending time with his family and friends. Survivors include his wife, Jessie M. Hull; four daughters, Elizabeth Hull of Sterling, Maria (Doug) Hernandez of Sterling, Lolita (Orlando) Rocha of Sterling, Tina (Mike) Browning of Rock Falls; six grandchildren, Phillip Hull, Tyler and Cory Hernandez, Ethan and Logan Rocha, and Sydnee Browning ; one great grandchild, Damien Hull. He was preceded in death by his parents. Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday January 2, 2018 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Sterling with Reverend James Keenan, pastor, officiating. Visitation will be from 9AM-10:45 AM at Schilling Funeral Home and Cremation prior to services at church. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Sterling. A memorial has been established.
