Phyllis Alderfer

ROCK FALLS – Phyllis J. Alderfer, 85, of Rock Falls died Friday, November 15, 2019, at her home. Phyllis was born July 6, 1934 in Sterling, the daughter of Ralph and Olive (Wolf) Kosier. She married Glenn Alderfer on August 30, 1953, in Sterling. He preceded her in death on March 28, 1999. Survivors include one daughter, Terri Anderson of Rock Falls; two grandchildren, Sarah (Josh) Riley and Jake (Jordan Babbitt) Anderson; and three great-grandchildren, Greyson and Mackenzie Riley and Jacek Anderson. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Glenn; and one son, Gregg Alderfer. In her early years Phyllis took pride in being a housewife and mother. Later in life she ran an antique store, was very involved in her class reunion planning and belonged to the Red Hat Society. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at Schilling Funeral Home and Cremation, Sterling followed by a private family graveside service. A memorial has been established
