Phyllis Stutzman

Phyllis Wahl Stutzman, 95, of Sterling died July 17, 2023 surrounded by family bedside. Phyllis was born June 13, 1928 in Walnut the daughter of Everett and Evelyn (Minier) Wahl. She married Allen Luther Stutzman February 15, 1948 in Princeton. Together they celebrated 75 years of marriage in 2023.

Phyllis attended Sterling schools, graduating from Princeton, IL High School. She also graduated from Northwest Institute of Medical Technology in Minneapolis MN.

She was a Red Cross Volunteer and Blood donor for 42 years, and a Member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Sterling.

Phyllis helped her husband on the farm in Tampico, IL for 40 years, retiring in Sterling and spending winters in Florida. She enjoyed traveling to all 50 states, Europe and Australia.

She was preceded in death by one son in infancy Gregg Stutzman

Survivors include her husband Allen; three daughters Sandra (Ray) Lisy of Morris IL, Jan (Larry) Lepianka of Walnut IL, and Kay (Steve) Bierman of Bradenton FL; five grandchildren Steven Dekker, Mark (Miranda) Dekker, Melissa (Dan) Thompson, Serena (Brett) VonHolten, and Andrea (Matt) Wiggim; and eight great-grandchildren; one sister Donna Morel from Oceanside CA.

Cremation rites have been entrusted to Schilling Funeral Home & Cremation, and a private family graveside will take place at Bunker Hill Cemetery, in Buda IL.
