ROBERT W. PRESCOTT STERLING-Robert “Bob” W. Prescott of Sterling, 84, died Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at St. Anthony Medical Center, Rockford. Bob was born October 10, 1934, in Sterling. The son of George (Nettie) Prescott. He married Jan Speaker on November 23, 1969 in Sterling. She preceded him in death on July 6, 2016. He served in the U.S. Army finishing his service at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri with the 5th army from 1953-1955. Bob spent his entire life with one goal. Enriching other people’s lives putting himself last at every moment. Survivors include one daughter, Julie Prescott of Sterling; five sons, Monte (Kay) Eldert of Lake Geneva, WI, Robert (Barbara) Prescott, Jr, of Verona, WI, Mark Eldert of Davenport, IA, Michael (April) Prescott of Downers Grove and Matthew (Angela) Prescott of Sterling; eleven grandchildren Gregory and Gina Poci , Adam, Megan and Rachel Eldert, Sarah and Olivia Prescott, Luke and Trevor Prescott, Raegan and Robbie Prescott, and Andrew Sparapani; three great grandchildren, Brianna Eldert, Kaydence Eldert, and Mason Brunger; one brother, Jim Prescott of Sterling and special friend"Lizzie" who never left his side. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Richard Prescott; brother George “Danford” Prescott; his beloved Elizabeth "Aunt Betty" Speaker. Visitation will be Sunday from 4-7 PM at Schilling Funeral Home & Cremation, and from 10-11 AM Monday, prior to funeral services. Funeral services will be 11 AM Monday, July 1, 2019 at Schilling Funeral Home and Cremation, Sterling, IL with Reverend Jeff Coester, officiating. Cremation rites will be accorded after the funeral, and a private family graveside service will be held at a later date. A memorial has been established.
