Roberta Haag

STERLING- Roberta Lucille Espy Haag, 86, of Sterling, died Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at CGH Medical Center. Roberta was born April 6, 1929 and was adopted by Harold and Violet (Floto) Espy. She married Donald L. Haag on January 22, 1956 at the United Methodist Church, Dixon and just recently celebrated their sixtieth wedding anniversary. They lived in Dixon until the birth of their first child, then moved to Sterling. She became an RN at Swedish American Hospital, Rockford and worked for Dr. Wilbur Stitzel and then later at CGH, prior to the strike. Roberta attended St. Paul Lutheran Church, Sterling and most recently Amazing Grace Church, Sterling. Survivors include her husband, Donald; one daughter, Deb (Michael) Donoho of Dixon, three sons, Dennis (Joni) Haag of Rock Falls, Ron Haag of Sterling and John (Ann) Haag of Marinette WI; eleven grandchildren, Erin (Josh) Stroud, Beth (Brad) McFalls and Calli McNamara, all of Sterling, Justin (Rebecca ) Haag of Pasadena, CA, Sara (Tony) Williams of Sterling, Faith (Addam) Garcia and Cassie Haag, both of Rock Falls, Megan Haag of WI, and Adam Haag of Hawaii, Miranda Lee and David Haag of Dixon; great-grandchildren, Nicolas Allison, Jase Williams, Meadow Lee, Mackenzie, Micah, Mikael, and Jaxen Stroud, Ryne and Elianna McFalls, Levi McNamara, Sebastien Haag, Genevieve and Gabriel Haag, Damion Garcia of Rock Falls Rayne Lorenzi-Haag,Sage and Bear Baker of Rock Falls; and one sister-in-law, Bonnie Dunn of Rockford. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother-in-law, Kenneth and Robert Haag and sister-in-law, Peggy. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM Saturday, March 26, 2016 at the Schilling Funeral Home and Cremation, Sterling, with the Reverend Loren Schlomer, pastor, of Amazing Grace, officiating.
