Ronald Drane

STERLING- Ronald E. Drane, 77, of Sterling died August 19, 2021 at Rock River Hospice & Home in Sterling. Ron was born March 31, 1944 in Sterling the son of Herbert and Gertrude (Moore) Drane. He married Frieda Scudder on May 23, 1989 in Clinton IA. He retired from Northwestern Steel & Wire. Survivors include his wife Frieda; two sons Don (Anna Rice) Drane, and Tim (Rose) Drane both of Dixon; three daughters Debbie (Mario) Vivarelli of Sterling, Teresa (Dean) Egan of Sterling, and Sherri (Dan Cox) Haenni of Sterling; five sisters Irene Prew, Violet Windham, Alice Middleton, Mary Doane, and Anita Gilbert all of Sterling; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother Herbert Drane, and one sister Marilyn Thomas. Cremation rites have been accorded and burial will take place at Oak Knoll Memorial Park, per Ron’s wishes.
