Ruby Duncan

Ruby J. Duncan, 90, died Sunday, June 10, 2012 at Coventry Living Center in Sterling. Ruby was born August 14, 1921 in Smith Co., Virginia, the daughter of Ambrose and Amie (Duncan) Billings. She married David B. Duncan on November 8, 1952 in Dixon. Ruby was a member of First Church of the Nazarene in Sterling. Survivors include her husband, David B. Duncan of Sterling; one son, Fred (Renee) Duncan, of Sterling; one brother, Thomas (Betty) Billings, of Rock Falls; two grandchildren, Katie (Jake) Wetzell, of Dixon, and Chad (Sarah) Duncan, of Sterling; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Joe, Brack, James, and Robert Billings; and three sisters, Minnie Dowell, Gladys Duncan, and Virginia Porter Duncan. Services will be held at 11 AM, Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at Schilling Funeral Home with Reverend Bob Hasselbring of First Church of the Nazarene, officiating. Burial will be at the Riverside Cemetery, Sterling. Visitation will be from 10-11 AM, Wednesday, prior to services, at the Funeral Home. A memorial has been established.
