Margarito Rangel

STERLING- Margarito "Shorty" Rangel, 90, entered into Heaven on Saturday, August 3, 2019 at Rock River Hospice and Home. Margarito was born February 22, 1929 in Sedgwick, CO the son of Vulfrano P. and Filomena (Ontiveros) Rangel. He married Minerva Salazar. She preceded him in death on October 27, 1966. He then married Barbara Gibson on July 27, 1978 in Sterling. She preceded him in death on July 8, 2018 Survivors include two daughters, Minerva (Craig) Boyungs of Colorado Springs, CO, and Pam (Okaka) Dokotum of Uganda; seven sons, John (Pam Kolb) Rangel of Sterling, Fred (Missy Schmitt) Rangel of Sterling, Tony (Kathaleen) Rangel of Davenport, Margarito Jr. (Anna) Rangel of Addison, IL, Jorge (Patti) Rangel of Dubuque, IA, Ron (LaRin) Rangel and Michael (Erin DeSutter) Rangel of Sterling; two step-children, Barry Pettorini of Sterling and Robin Pettorini of Knoxville, TN; two sisters, Eva Escobedo of Fresno, CA and Ramona (John) Lee of Los Angeles, CA; grandchildren, Craig (Yolanda) Boyungs, Jesse Boyungs, Freddie Jr. Rangel, Nichole (Jake) Osborn, Jordan VanOsdel, Dylan Beckman, Patricia (Rick Costa) Rangel, Margarito III (Krissy) Rangel, Monica (Alex Custer) Swintek, Sidney (Jordan) Kohl, Chelsea (Daniel Karnick) Rangel, Matthew Straub, Nathan Straub, Alex Rangel, Amina Dokotum, Marty Voschell, and Janelle Williamson; nine great-grandchildren, Alex Boyungs, Antonio Boyungs, Eli Boyungs, Andrew Boyungs, Easi Rangel, Isla Osborn, Miles Osborn, Micheala Costa, Kollins Kohl and Jensen Kohl. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Minerva Rangel and then wife, Barbara; two sisters, Maria Belman and Nieves Rodriguez; two brothers, Anthony Belman and Juan Francisco Rangel. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Saturday, August 10, 2019 at Schilling Funeral Home and Cremation, Sterling with Pastor Larry Harts, from City of God, officiating.
