SMAIDA A. BOLLMAN Sterling - Smaida A. Bollman, 75, died Friday, October 18, 2013 at Coventry Living Center, Sterling. Smaida was born February 11, 1938 in Jelgava, Latvia, the daughter of Ansis and Melanija (Bitens) Grikmanis. She married Eugene Bollman on May 18, 1958 in Sterling, IL. Smaida was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Sterling. She was employed by CGH Medical canter as a medical records secretary prior to retirement. Survivors include her husband Eugene; two daughters, Pam (David) Strike of Prophetstown and Mindy (Rick) Chapman of Fenton; two sons, Marty Bollman of Port Byron and Alan (Shari) Bollman of Wildwood, MO; five grandchildren, Shannyn Bollman, Blake Bollman, Hannah Strike, Heather Strike, and Mary Chapman; one great-grandchild, Daevion Jordan; and one nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter in infancy; a brother, Gunars Grikmanis, and a niece, Leanne Grikmanis. Memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, October 26, 2013 at Schilling Funeral Home with Mark Oehlert, pastor of St. John's Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will be private at a later date, at Oak Knoll Memorial Park, Sterling. Visitation will be from 10:00 am-11:00 am, Saturday, October 26, 2013 at Schilling Funeral Home prior to the service. A memorial has been established to Rock River Valley Hospice and St. John's Lutheran Church. Condolences may be sent to www.schillingfuneralhome.com.
