W. Jean (Asbury) Smith

    W. Jean (Asbury) Smith 91 of Sterling Il. Passed away on Sunday, March 9 at Heritage Woods of Sterling, IL. Jean was born July 31, 1933 in Taylorville, IL to William T. and Katherine L. (McCain) Asbury, in Sterling, IL. She attended Sterling, IL schools. On September 27, 1952, Jean married Willard Smith, in a double marriage with her sister, Reba and fiancé, Louis Lindstrom She was married to Willard for 32 years who passed away December 24, 1984

   Jean worked at the phone company, Kmart and Farm & Fleet,especially during the Christmas season. She worked with her very close friend Marilyn Pursell at Farms & Fleet. They offen went on trips together and spending time with each other. Jean would enjoy going on cruises with her daughter Teresa and going to the river boats.

   Jean is survived by two sons Terry (Georgia)Smith, of Sterling, il and Tim (Lori) Smith, of Prophetstown, il and one brother Kennth ( Rebecca) Asbury of Sterling, il. She had seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and six great-great grandchildren.

   She is preceded in death by her parents; Daughter Teresa Cowley, Vince Fl. five sisters Viola Planthaber, Wanda Miller, Shirley Ellis, of Sterling il. , Reba Lindstrom of Morrison, il and Hazel Browning, of Springdale, AR and six brothers; William, Herbert, Norman, Donald, Leroy, Gordon Asbury.

   Cremation rites have been accorded.
