Obituary of LaVonne Dahlgren

LAVONNE V. DAHLGREN STERLING - LaVonne V. Dahlgren, 87, died Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at Sterling Pavilion. LaVonne was born October 29, 1924 in Sterling, the daughter of Earl and Violet McNeil. She married Dean L. Dahlgren on June 22, 1945 in Sterling. He preceded her in death on November 27, 2011. LaVonne was a graduate of Sterling High School and Cornell College. She was an elementary school teacher in Nelson and a piano teacher for many years. LaVonne was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Sterling. She was an avid bridge player. Survivors include one son, Curt (Debbie) Dahlgren, of Sterling; two daughters, Marcia Howard, of Rockford, and Judi (Kenny Hilb) Dahlgren, of McHenry; and two grandchildren, Jennifer Dahlgren, of Chicago, and James Dahlgren, of Winter Park, FL. She was also preceded in death by her parents; and one sister, Betty Jean Birch. There will be no services. Cremation rites have been accorded.
