Obituary of Janet Jennings

JANET JENNINGS

STERLING-Janet Jennings, 95, of Sterling, died Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at Good Samaritan Society-Prophets Riverview, Prophetstown.

    Janet was born May 13, 1923 in Ashton, the daughter of Aaron and Charlotte (Sanders) Meling. She married Dean Jennings on July 16, 1944 in Ashton. He preceded her in death on October 21, 1993.

    Survivors include one daughter, Diane L. Smith of Sterling; one granddaughter, Jennifer (Kevin) Grobe of Dixon and three great-granddaughters, Kimberlyn Smith, Shaleigh Smith, and Kylie Shaw.

    She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Galen Meling and two granddaughters, Kimberly Smith and Kerri Smith.

    Funeral services will be held at 12:30 PM on Saturday, April 20, 2019 at First Christian Church, Sterling with Pastor Zachary Mapes, officiating. Visitation will be from 11:30-12:30PM Saturday, prior to services at the church. Burial will be private.

    In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to First Christian Church of Sterling.
