STERLING-Arnold F. “Bud” Iben, 92 of Sterling, died Friday, May 10, 2019 at Rock River Hospice and Home, Sterling.

    Arnold was born, March 28, 1927 in Sterling, the son of Ado and Alice (Ohms) Iben. He served in the United States Army during WWII from 1946 - 1947. He married Beverly Miller on October 24, 1954. She preceded him in death in September 6, 1986. He later married Elsie Hook on September 29, 1989.

    Survivors include his wife Elsie of Sterling; two daughters, Susan Edmunds of Bradford Woods, PA and Kay Iben of Pine Bluff, AK; one step-daughter, Laurie (Jeff) Helms of Bloomington; two step-sons, Kevin (Mista) Helms of Rock Falls and Todd (Sarah) Helms of Chicago; one sister, Elvera Ilgenfritz of Midland, MI; sister-in-law, Carol Iben of Rock Falls; three grandchildren; six step-grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

    He was also preceded in death by his parents, stepdaughter, Julie Duncan and brother George Iben.

    Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Thursday, May 16, 2019 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Sterling, with Reverend Leo Patterson, officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery, Sterling with full military rites. Visitation will be from 9-10:45AM prior to services at the church.

    A memorial has been established to St. John’s Lutheran Church, Sterling and Rock River Hospice and Home.
