Obituary of Robert Sutkay

STERLING-Robert L. “Bob” Sutkay, 65 of Sterling, died Sunday,  Mary 19, 2019 at his home. He was a teacher for Unit 5 Sterling Schools.

    Robert was born January 9, 1954 in Lansing, MI, the son of Robert J. and Marilyn (Lee) Sutkay. He moved to Sterling in 1964, attended Sterling public schools, and Western Illinois University in Macomb. He married Lorraine Sedig on November 7, 1976 in Sterling.

    Survivors include, his wife, Lorraine of Sterling; his father, Robert J. Sutkay of Sterling; four sons, Will (Jen) Sutkay of Grays Lake, John Sutkay of Geneva, Ben (Daisy) Sutkay of Bluffton, OH and Nick (Ann) Sutkay of Milledgeville; two sisters, Sue (Tom) Lamberson of Verona, WI and Julie (Steve) Desidero of Pewaukee, WI; three brothers, Dale (Diane) Sutkay of Sterling, David (Alice) Sutkay of Rockton and Steven (Colleen) Sutkay of Yorkville; and five grandchildren.

    He was preceded in death by his mother; and brother-in-law Mike Sisson.  

    Funeral services will be held at 10AM Friday. May 24, 2019 at the Reformed Mennonite Church, Sterling. Burial will be in Reformed Mennonite Cemetery, Sterling. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM, Thursday at Schilling Funeral Home, Sterling.
