Obituary of Halton Hartsfield

ROCK FALLS-Halton Eugene Hartsfield, 95, of Sterling, died, Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at his home surrounded by his family.

    Halton was born August 27, 1923 in Greenwood, AR, the son of Huberts E. and Julia (Mathis) Hartsfield. He married Frankie Snider on June 27, 1942 in Greenwood. She preceded him in death January 2014.

    Halton moved to Illinois in 1956. He was a lifelong member of Berean Baptist Church.

    Survivors include three daughters, Barbara (Larry) Eilers of Houston, TX, Edna Miller of Rock Falls, and Irene (Rick) Hill of Vero Beach, FL; one sister, Hazel Beach of Portland, OR; one brother, Claude Hartsfield of Texas; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and eleven great-great grandchildren.

   He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Maxine Johnson and one brother, Roger Hartsfield.

   Graveside services will be at 10 AM  on Monday, June 10, 2019 at Oak Knoll Memorial Park, Sterling with Reverend Roger Carlson, officiating.
