Obituary of Joanne Grabeklis

STERLING- Joanne B. Grabeklis, 85, of Sterling, passed away, Sunday, August 11, 2019 at The Citadel Nursing Home, Sterling. 

     Joanne was born March 12, 1934 in Sterling, the daughter of Harold and Marjorie (Rock) Stevens. She married Arturs K. Grabeklis on August 3, 1952 in Sterling. 

     Joanne enjoyed reading, crafting, traveling and taking care of her family. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and “granddogs”.

      Survivors include one son, Lauris (Maureen); two daughters, Juli (Ron Rimrodt) Grabeklis and Sheri (Jay) Stewart; three grandchildren, Justin, Maurae and Jordan; and one great-granddaughter, Charlotte.

     She was preceded in death by her husband Arturs of 66 years and her parents.

      Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at 11 AM at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Sterling with Reverend Leo Patterson, officiating. 

     A memorial has been established to Rock River Hospice and Home.

     Arrangements were completed by the Schilling Funeral Home and Cremation, Sterling.
