Obituary of William Allen

STERLING- William J. Allen, 83, of Sterling died Saturday December 19, 2020 surrounded by family. William was born July 3, 1937, in Sterling the son of William and Theresa (Dayton) Allen. He married Wendy Miller Hamilton in 1994. William enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a skilled machinist, and worked at Northwestern Steel & Wire for 35 years. He was an active member of the local hot rod community, and enjoyed watching NASCAR races. Survivors include his wife Wendy of Sterling; three sons William (Catherine) Allen of TX, Robert (Brenda) Allen of Sterling, and John (Tina) Allen of Rockford; two daughters Janice Majors of Lanark, and Teri (Scott) Weidemann of Albuquerque NM; one step son Rob (Kelly) Hamilton of Dixon; one step daughter Renee (Ryan Albreght) Ryan of Dixon; one brother Larry Allen of Sterling; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son James Allen; two sisters Marie Flossi, and Pat Kelch. Graveside services will be 11 A.M Monday December 28, 2020 at Oak Knoll Memorial Park in Sterling. A memorial has been established and can be sent to Schilling Funeral Home P.O.
