STERLING- Robert Harris, 86, of Sterling died Friday December 25, 2020 at CGH Medical Center. Robert was born October 23, 1934 in Saltville VA the son of George and Lula (Coe) Harris. He married Nila Harris on November 17, 1960 in Abingdon VA.
Survivors include his wife Nila; one daughter Robin (Jeff) Henard; one son Wayne (Melanie) Harris; one sister Phyllis Taylor of Saltville VA; two brothers George Harris, and Charles Allen Harris; six grandchildren Clinton Pearson, Rachel Bamber, Ashley Zell, Cecily Harris, Rob Henard, and Brianna Tarbill; and many great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter Vicky Bamber; two brothers Alva Harris and Ralph Harris; and one sister Ruth Snow.
Funeral services will be 11 AM Wednesday December 30, 2020 at Schilling Funeral Home & Cremation in Sterling. With Reverend Scott Porter of Abiding Word, officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior from 10AM-11AM. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery in Sterling. Due to Covid-19 restrictions masks and social distancing will be required, and only 10 people allowed in the building at one time.
A memorial has been established and may be sent to Schilling Funeral Home P.O. Box 592 Sterling IL 61081, and will be forwarded to family.
