STERLING-Jerry L. Dittmar, 74, of Sterling, died Sunday, January 3, 2021 at his home. Jerry was born October 13, 1946 in Sterling, the son of Edward Dittmar and Ruby Coleman. Jerry was a follower of Jesus and was an active member of First Open Bible Church in Rock Falls. Jerry also served his country in the United States Army. Survivors include two sons, Darrin Dittmar and Donnie (Bonnie) Dittmar both of Sterling; one half sister, Carol Raines of Dixon; one step-sister, Karen (Kim) Sturtevant of Lanark; three step-brothers, Kevin (Marlie) Folk and Dave (Chris) Folk, both of Milledgeville and Frank (Wendy) Folk of Indiana and five grandchildren, Zach M. Dittmar, Zach S. Dittmar, Riley Dittmar, Kaitlyn Dittmar and Taylor Dittmar. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Linda Riesselman. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Friday, January 8, 2021 at First Open Bible in Rock Falls, with Chad Kimmell, officiating. Burial will take place at Center Hill Cemetery in Mt. Carroll immediately following the funeral. Visitation will be Thursday January 7, 2020 from 5-7 PM at the church. Masks and social distancing guidelines will be followed. A memorial has been established to First Open Bible Church, Rock Falls. Memorials may also be sent to Schilling Funeral Home, PO Box 592, Sterling, IL 61081 and will be forwarded to the family.
