Obituary of Tom Schilling
EAST MOLINE-Thomas "Tom" Schilling, 75 of East Moline, died Friday, January 15, 2021 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice and Home in Bettendorf IA.
Tom was born November 30, 1945 in Streator the son of Richard M. and Olive A. (Lage) Schilling. He married Elizabeth Ann Williams on December 10, 1983 in Silvis. He served in the United States Navy from 1964-1966, and was a mason for several years. He had a love for shooting pool, and Airedale dogs especially his best friend “Zeke”.
Survivors include his wife, Ann of East Moline; two daughters, Terri Stanford of Santa Fe NM, and Amy (Will Price) Schilling of Moline; four sons, Tom Barker of New Hampshire, Derek Spicer of Carbon Cliff, Darren (Patty McDunough) Spicer of Moline and Daniel (Amy) Spicer of Silvis; one sister, Mary Ellen Daniel of Byron; three brothers, Bill (Carolyn) Schilling of Show Low, AZ; Richard (Donna) Schilling of Dixon and John (Sara) Schilling of Sterling; eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Derek D. Spicer.
Graveside services with military rites will be held on Monday, January 18, 2021 at Erie Cemetery, Erie, IL with Reverend Scott Porter, officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 1-3 PM at the Schilling Funeral Home, Sterling. Masks and social distancing guidelines will be followed.
A memorial has been established. Memorials can be sent to Schilling Funeral Home PO Box 592 Sterling, IL 61081 and will be forwarded to the family.
