STERLING-William E. Boesen, 78, died, Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at his home. William was born October 17, 1942 in Sterling, the son of Kenneth and Helen (Cantlin) Boesen. He married Beverly Banes on August 10, 1974 at First Presbyterian, Sterling. William was employed at Northwestern Steel and Wire Company for 30 years, retiring in 1991 and was then a consultant for Magnesita Refractories, York, PA, prior to retiring in 2015. He and Beverly loved to RV to Sanibel FL and Door County. William was an active member and elder of Bethel Reformed Church, Sterling, where he sang on the praise team and taught adult Sunday School. He also loved working at Bethel’s woodworking shop shoebox ministries, making hundreds of cars every year. William loved his family very deeply and was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Survivors include his wife, Beverly of Sterling; two daughters, Sherry (Ed) Hussung of Abingdon, MD and Amy (Mark) Stice of Okemos, MI; one son, William (Marcy) Boesen II of Hinsdale; two step-daughters, Deborah (Tom) Mallicoat of Sterling and Wendy (Mike) Dugger of Rock Falls; three sisters, Mary Kay (Gene) Zinanni of Sterling, Ann (Ray) Macri of Bolingbrook and Theresa (Dennis) Davies of North Edwards, CA; four brothers, Jim (Karen) and Larry Boesen, both of Sterling, Tom (Rhonda) Boesen of Indianapolis, IN and Jake (Monique) Boesen of Virginia; seven grandchildren, Brooke (Tim) Dugger, Sean Dugger, Rachel Dugger, Paige Blaker, Shelby Blaker, Olivia Stice, Izzy Stice; and one great-grand-daughter Kyla Jo Dugger. He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Kimberly Boesen; infant son, Robert Boesen in 1963; two sisters, Marian Boesen-Barron and JoAnn Boesen and one brother, Ken Boesen. Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. A memorial has been established.
