MARIA IRMA MARQUEZ YUMA, AZ-Maria Irma Marquez, 87, of Yuma AZ, formerly of the area, died May 7, 2021 at her home in Arizona, surrounded by family. Irma was employed at Lawrence Brothers for ten years prior to moving to Mexico. Maria Irma was born August 28, 1933 in Weslaco, TX, the daughter of Guadalupe and Jesusa (Pena) Sandoval. She married Alejandro Cantu. She then married Mucio Marquez. He preceded her in death. Survivors include, five daughters, Evangelina Cantu, Velma Cantu, Teresa (Robert Barron, Sr.) Cantu, SanJuanita (Gary Zimmerly) Cantu and Ermelinda Cantu; four sons, Alejandro Cantu, Ruben Cantu, Noe Cantu and Bulmaro (Olga) Marquez; one sister, Estella (Manuel) Tejeda; brother, Felemon Sandoval; twenty-four grandchildren; thirty-six great-grandchildren; twenty-five great-great-grandchildren and twenty-one great-great-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Paula Garza; Josefina Lira and Francisca Camacho; five brothers, Gume, Eddie, Lucas, Ray and Lupe; one child in infancy; two grandchildren; one daughter-in-law and four great-great-grandchildren. Memorial service will be held at 11 AM Friday, June 18, 2021 at Schilling Funeral Home, Sterling, with Reverend James Keenan, officiating. Visitation will be from 10-11AM, prior to services.
