Obituary of Loismarie Hope Vogel

Loismarie Hope Vogel, aged 101, passed peacefully on Sunday May 23, 2021 at Heritage Health in Walnut, IL. after living a long life. Loismarie was born December 31, 1919 in Dixon, Il. She was the daughter of George and Mariah (Coakley) Muzzey. After marrying Werner Vogel on June 7, 1941, they resided in Sterling, Illinois where they had two children: a daughter Sandra and son Lloyd. Lois Marie worked at Vogel’s Market, a family-owned fruit and vegetable market in Sterling. Additionally, she held jobs at Woolworths and the Lee Wayne Company for many years. Loismarie and her husband Werner loved camping which resulted in their desire to travel. Later in life they divided their time between McAllen, Tx and Sterling, Ill., spending winters in the south with friends and returning home each summer. Finally in 2014 the couple returned permanently to Sterling, Illinois. Loismarie was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband Werner (Pete) who passed away on June 10, 2014, her son, Lloyd Vogel, and two brothers George Muzzey and Lloyd Muzzey. Survivors include one daughter Sandra (Steve) Wilson of Batavia; two grand-daughters Shelley (Gary) Ballmann, and Krista (Jack) Burns; six great-grandchildren Austen Ballmann, Carsen Ballmann, Kylie Ballmann, Jack Burns, Morgan Burns, and Delaney Burns; several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 18th at Oakwood Cemetery in Dixon, Ill. Luncheon to follow. Condolences may be sent to www.schillingfuneralhome.com
