Obituary of Kenneth McCaslin

STERLING-Kenneth E. McCaslin, 86, died June 28, 2021 at CGH Medical Center. Kenny was born March 11, 1935 in Fountain Creek, IL, the son of Nova and Grace (Geisler) McCaslin. He married Patricia A. Leifheit in Sandwich, IL on June 23, 1956. They recently celebrated 65 years of marriage. Kenny owned and operated McCaslin’s Bakery from 1968-1999. There were three other McCaslin’s Bakeries throughout Illinois independently owned by three of his brothers. Kenny was also the proud owner of M&M apartments. Kenny was a devout follower of Christ and attended Harvest Time Bible Church in Rock Falls. Survivors include his wife, Patricia; son, Tim (Tracey) McCaslin of Sterling; daughter, Laurie McCaslin of California; granddaughters, Morgan (Alejandro) Rivera of Sterling and Sydney McCaslin of Chicago; two great-grandchildren, Elias and Roman Rivera; one brother and two sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 6, 2021, from 10:30AM-12:00pm at the Schilling Funeral Home, 702 1st Avenue in Sterling. Funeral service will immediately follow visitation at noon. Burial will conclude at Oak Knoll Cemetery. --
