Obituary of Jill Deem

Sleepy Hollow-Jill A. Deem, 78, of Sleepy Hollow and formerly of Sterling died Thursday, October 21, 2021 at Pinecrest Community in Mt. Morris. Jill was born March 20, 1943 in Sterling the daughter of Charles and Violet (Parker) Weatherwax. She married her high school sweetheart, Jon Deem, on September 28, 1963 in Sterling. Jill attended Woodlawn School, Sterling High School `61, and Northwestern University. She retired from DC Cook Publishing in Elgin. Jill had a strong faith that she lovingly shared with others. She cherished family, her children and grandchildren were a constant source of joy. Her personal handwritten notes were a blessing to many. Survivors include her husband Jon; two sons Scott (Sharon) Deem of Lake in the Hills, Todd (Misha) Deem of Mt. Juliet TN; one sister Jane (Ron) Weimerslage of Geneva; and four grandchildren Alyssa, Mitchell, Marissa, and Addison; three sister-in-laws Janice (Jerry) Knight, Lisa Richter, Wendy (Frank) Folk; one brother-in-law Bill (Cindy) Deem. Jill was preceded in death by her parents, and one sister-in-law Georgia Deem Teran. Funeral services will be 11:30AM Friday October 29, 2021 at Schilling Funeral Home & Cremation in Sterling with Reverend Rodney Caldwell, officiating. Visitation will be Friday October 29, 2021 from 10AM-11:30AM prior to the funeral. Burial will take place at Oak Knoll Memorial Park immediately following the funeral. A memorial has been established to the Pinecrest Good Samaritan Fund. The family wishes to thank Pinecrest Terrace for their loving care of Jill and kind support of her family.
