Obituary of Kent P. Kosier

Kent P. Kosier, 80, of Sterling died Saturday December 18, 2021 at Heritage Woods in Sterling. Kent was born January 28, 1941 the son of Cecil and Helen (Corbin) Kosier. Kent was born and raised in Sterling and lived there his entire life. He graduated from Sterling High School in 1960 and later that year joined the US Navy serving until 1964. He was very proud of his military service. He worked at National Manufacturing for over 30 years and has maintained many friendships from his time there. Kent was an avid sports fan and loved the Chicago Bears, Chicago Cubs, and Illini Basketball. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and family, and especially loved watching his grandsons play baseball. Survivors include one son David (Hope) Kosier of Gaithersburg MD; one daughter Julie (Mike) Leonard of Lemont IL; one brother Keith (Colleen) Kosier of Sterling; two grandchildren Michael and Aidan Leonard. Kent was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister Karen. Cremation rites have been entrusted to Schilling Funeral Home, and burial will take place at 11AM Thursday December 23, 2021 at Oak Knoll Memorial Park in Sterling.
