Obituary of Margaret Hasenyager

Please share a memory of Margaret to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Margaret M. Hasenyager has made the last entry in her diary here on earth this 13th day of June 2022. She passed peacefully with family by her side. Rock River Hospice made all of us comfortable and welcomed. Margaret M. Lange was born May 1, 1926 in Peoria to Fredrick and Dorothy Lange. The family moved to Sterling when the 3 kids were just in grade school. She was preceded in death by both parents, brother Francis Lange and sister Dorothy Jean VanWassenhove. Margaret married Keith W. Hasenyager on July 17, 1948 and he preceded her in death on June 2, 2017. Margaret is survived by her daughters Mary (Ken) McGinn of Rockford, Cynthia (Bernard) Mammosser of Rock Falls, Laurie (Geno) Jaques of Walnut, and one son Michael Hasenyager of Sterling. Margaret was Grandma to 4 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 4 step great-grandchildren. Rollin Weber (Brother-in-law) Arkansas survives as well as several nieces, nephews and a few cousins. Special thanks to her sweet niece, Linda Armastrong of East Moline who came to be beside her the days before she passed. Margaret was a member of St. Andrews Catholic Church and attended Catholic Schools in Peoria and Sterling. 96 years of memories and she remembered each one! She was our :go to” for who, what, when and where! We will catch ourselves saying “Lets go ask Mom” several times in the coming months! She wanted to be remembered as a great wife (saint), great mother, friend, hostess, active grandma and great-grandma! She loved basketball in High School, tennis and golf all through the years. She loved collecting recipes and you could find one tucked away in the oddest places throughout the house. Cremation rites have been accorded with Schilling Funeral Home in Sterling. Any donations or memorials may be by your choice to whomever you remember in need or in fondness. Our family has wonderful memories of our Mother and hope you do as well.
