Sallie Buyno, 75, of Sterling passed away August 24, 2022 at her home surrounded by family. Sallie was born January 29, 1947 in Sterling the daughter of Donald and Olive (Peterson) Powell. She married Philip Buyno on September 1, 1979.

 

Sallie taught speech at Rockfalls High School, Prophetstown Schools, Riverdale and years past taught at bi county Self Help. She was a lover of Jesus and lover of children. Sallie has over 20 grandchildren that she loved deeply.

 

Survivors include four sons Peter Jared (Kristina) Buyno of Ringgold GA, Micah Philip (Paula) Buyno of Sterling, Isaiah Jacob (Samm) Buyno of Sterling and Josef Alex Buyno Sterling; and one brother Robb Powell.

 

Sallie was preceded in death by her parents; one son Collin Jude Buyno; one daughter Meghan Joy Buyno.

 

Cremation rites have been accorded, a Celebration of life will take place September 1, 2022 from 11:30AM-12:30PM, luncheon at church beginning at 12:30PM, Visitation from 11AM-7PM at the Advent Christian Church 200 Elm Street in Prophetstown Illinois.
