Louise Virginia Montague, 79, of Sterling passed away surrounded by her family October 28,2022 at RestHave Nursing Home, Morrison.

Louise was born September 14,1943 in Chicago, the daughter of Arthur and Agnes (Darge) Fatschel.  She married Barry E. Montague Sr. on October 1st,1964 in Whiteside County. Upon retiring as the Sterling Township Assessor, Louise enjoyed playing cards and going to bingo.  She was an excellent bowler on many women's leagues, also couples' leagues with her husband Barry.  Louise and her sister Carol loved playing tennis and going to the movies together.  She also enjoyed a good scary movie with her popcorn and Coca-Cola. Louise and Barry enjoyed going for drives with her sister Carol and brother- in- law Sam visiting many places and restaurants.

Survivors include her husband Barry, three daughters Cathy Montague of Sterling IL, Pamela (Scott) Fowler of Rock Falls IL, Heather (Dino) Merced of Sterling, IL., one son Barry Jr. (Shelley) Montague of Dubuque IA., one sister Carol (Sam) Richey of Sterling, IL., seven grandchildren, Jennifer, Heather, Hannah, Monica, Tara, Nolan and Melanie, ten great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, including special niece Connie who was with her until the very end.  Very special friends since childhood Bev Asbury and Sharon Woodring.

Louise was preceded in death by both of her parents, one brother Robert Fatschel, and one sister Agnes Korunka.

Cremation rites have been accorded. There will be no services per Louise’s wishes.

Special thank you to Rock River Hospice and Home and Resthave for their special care and exceptional send off.
