Obituary of Genevieve Barnett

   Sterling- Genevieve L Barnett (Frank), 89, of Sterling, died Monday, Dec 5, 2022, at Rock River Hospice & Home.  Gen was born January 6, 1933 in Sterling, Illinois, the daughter of John and Nellie (Gilbert) Frank. 

   Gen was a graduate of Sterling Township High School in 1950. She married Joseph Barnett on January 30, 1952. 

   Before having their only daughter, Donna, Gen worked at Larsen. She enjoyed playing cards with friends, her daily soap operas, and watching her favorite NASCAR drivers, Dale Earnhardt and Dale Earnhardt Jr. 

   She is preceded in death by her Mother and Father, husband Joe Barnett, brother and sister-in-law Forrest and Lois Frank, and sister Phyllis Oelrichs.

   She is survived by her daughter, Donna Dorathy, grandson R.J. Dorathy, granddaughter Amy Dorathy, great grandchildren Kierra, Paityn, Tristan, brother-in-law Ralph Oelrichs, and her nieces and nephews. 

   There will be a Celebration of Life at the Midwest Mulisha S/C Clubhouse 1216 W 5th Street in Sterling, from 5pm-8pm on Friday, Dec 16.
