Obituary of David Devers

David E. Devers STERLING- Mr. David E. Devers, 69, of Sterling, died Saturday evening, January 26, 2013 at Rockford Memorial Hospital. He was a local chef. David was born October 16, 1943 in Sterling, the son of Leonard O. and Lillian A. Fee Devers. He married Marlene Cobb in Sterling on December 16, 1961. He was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Sterling. He is survived by his wife, Marlene; three sons, Leonard (Rhonda) Devers of Sterling, Jeff (Trish) Devers of Commanche, IA, and Heath Devers; one brother, Mark Ferguson of Peoria; two sisters, Wendy Bley of Rock Falls and Paula Ferguson of Aurora; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Brian Devers. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Thursday, January 31, 2013 at Schilling Funeral Home with Reverend Donald Matthiessen pastor of Our Savior Lutheran Church with burial at Oak Knoll Memorial Park.
