Obituary of Carrie Anderson

Carrie Anderson, 85, of Sterling died Thursday January 12, 2023 at her home. Carrie was born July 28, 1937 the daughter of Carl and Roda (McPherson) Blankenship. She married Paul Doane, he preceded her in death.  She then married BJ Anderson and he preceded her in death.

   Carrie loved to read, cook, play cards, bingo and to go fishing in the Rock River. She also enjoyed making big meals for everyone to eat. 

   Survivors include one daughter Kimberly (Joe) Porter of Sterling; one brother Paul (Avis) Blankenship of Kankakee IL; and one step- Duwayne (Helen) Doane of Rock Falls; three grandchildren and three great grandchildren. 

   Carrie was preceded in death by three sisters Rosie Thomas, Barbara Jean Andreas, and Phyllis Craig. 

   Cremation rites have been accorded and memorial service will be 11AM Friday January 20, 2023 at Schilling Funeral Home & Cremation in Sterling, with Dalmus Meeks, officiating. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the memorial service from 10AM-11AM.  

   A memorial has been established.
