My deepest sympathies go out to Janet and all of the Mool family. My fondest memories of Coach Mool involved the 1966 Amboy High School football team. It was his first year at Amboy and my senior year so our relationship was a short one. His philosophy was made known right away when he said, “three things can happen when you pass the ball and two of them are bad.” Led by Coach Mool, the ‘66 team won the first conference title in over 30 years and even though I played college ball, that season was the most fun I had playing organized sports. As a teacher and a coach, he was a credit to his profession and a leader and role model to many. Rest in peace, Coach.

A piece of my heart breaks and another piece fills with so much love for having this man come into my life over 50 years ago. My Drivers Ed teacher and gymnastics. Wrestling matches when I was cheerleader. All the football games a constant with him on the sidelines and going out on the field whenever anyone was hurt to help. Coming to my wedding almost 48 years ago. The last part at the Amboy Fire where I was an EMT for 14 years, still learning from him. I loved his humor, his no nonsense approach and the way he said "Gal". Its unfathomable to think of all the lives he touched. Janet my love to you and the boys. Gordy, Godspeed and thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I always enjoyed interacting with Mr. Mool. I recall the first day of driver's ed class (94'/95') he told all of us "Don't drive like your parents if you want to pass this class". Thoughts and prayers to family and friends.

Not too many people outside of my immediate family have left a lasting impression on me. Mr. Mool is one of the few who did. Maybe I didn’t realize it until now, unfortunately. However, I feel blessed that I was able to say goodbye to him face to face. While life has a way of taking loved ones from us, I feel fortunate that I will always have memories of those who I cherished. To Janet, Bob, and my brother David, I love you all, and am so sorry for your loss. Heaven got themselves one helluva coach.
