Obituary of Sylvia Rita Krummel

Sylvia Rita Krummel, 82, of Rock Falls, died Saturday, February 4, 2023 at her home. 

Rita “Ma Brauer” was born April 23, 1940 in Rock Island, the daughter of Forest and Priscilla (Campos) Rideout.  Rita worked for 30 years at the former Coin Laundromat in Rock Falls.

Rita was an animal lover, especially cats, including her beloved Lucky.  She liked to do crossword puzzles and watch football.  Her favorite teams were the Denver Broncos and San Francisco 49ers. She would go out of her way to help anyone and could fix anything she put her mind to and was very proud of that.

Funeral services will be held Friday February 10, 2023 at Schilling Funeral Home with Pastor Roger Carlson, officiating.  Visitation will be from 4-6 PM Friday, prior to services at the funeral home.  Burial of cremains will be at a later date.

Survivors include four daughters, Marilyn Brauer of Rock Falls, Melinda Neal of San Francisco, CA, Belinda Wetzell of Sterling, and Priscilla (Wayne) Lachat of Amboy; three sons, Richard (Jenny) Brauer of Sterling, Daniel Bean of San Francisco, CA, and Robert Brauer; one sister Helen Rodriguez of Vista, CA; 14 grandchildren including Sylvia, Kaliee, Richie, Felisha, Anthony, Danny, Ryan, Justin, Kirstin, Zack, Heide, Jessica, Candice, and Tyler; 13 great-grandchildren; 4 nieces and 2 nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, including John Espinoza; granddaughter, Amber Marie Brauer and niece, Angie Rodriguez.

A memorial has been established.
