Obituary of Mary Ferris

   Mary C. Ferris, born October 4, 1923 in Sterling, IL , daughter of John & Winifred Ferris, owners of Ferris Yellow Cab Company.  Mary was a graduate of St. Mary’s Grade and High Schools, also a graduate of Webster College (at that time a girls school) in Webster Grove, MO. She passed away on Febuary 4, 2023.  

   Mary was an advertising copywriter, she worked for Marshall Fields & Co in Chicago, Sterns in New York and Neiman Marcus in Dallas, TX. Returning to Chicago, she worked for Leo Burnett until retiring in 1987.  

   Mary is survived by nieces Susan Ferris of Aurora, IL and Jane Ferris of Coronado, CA; nephews Dr. John Ferris of Colleyville, TX, Dr. James Ferris of Sterling, IL and Ed Ferris of Bulverde TX; numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews.

   Funeral mass will be held at 11 AM Friday March 31, 2023 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Sterling.

   A memorial has been established.
