Obituary of Dale Sugars

Dale Sugars, 78 of Sterling, died Sautrday February 11, 2023.  Dale was born March 11, 1944 in Greenville Township, the son of Delmar and Esther (Schrader) Sugars.  He married Donna Smith on June 19, 1987 in Sterling. 

   Dale retired from Frantz Manufacturing after 40+ years of service. He was a member of the Manlius Sportsmans Club, Green River Saddle Club, and was the former Newbedford Volunteer Fire Chief.  He was an avid golfer, he enjoyed Fishing, Hunting, and Woodworking. Most of all Dale loved spending time with his family and grandchildren.

   Survivors include his wife Donna; three daughters Theresa (Bill Johnson) Love of Princeton, Tammy Sugars of Sterling, Tina (Dan) Dykstra of Morrison; one son Craig (Debbie) Hills of Dixon; one son-in-law David Oaks of Princeton; one brother Larry (Maxine) Sugars of New Bedford; two brother-in-laws Greg (Dianne) Smith of Casper WY, and Gordon (Marcia) Smith of Russiaville IN; one sister-in-law Shirley Sugars of Victoria TX; ten grandchildren Jacob, Heather, Dustin, Jeannette, Brittany, Ryan, Corey, Aaron, Taylor, Sydney, Robert, and Jeremy; eleven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

   Dale was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter Tracy Oaks; one brother Eugene Sugars; and mother-in-law Evelyn Smith. 

   Funeral Services will be 11AM Friday February 17, 2023 at First Christian Church in Sterling, with Pastor Zack Mapes, officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 10AM-11AM at the Church. Burial will take place immediately following at Oak Knoll Memorial Park in Sterling. 

    A memorial has been established.
