Obituary of Brock Shelley

 Brock W. Shelley, 78, of Sterling died Saturday March 18, 2023 at Generations at Neighbors Nursing Facility in Byron.  Brock was born August 3, 1944 in Sterling the son of Orville and Ruth Mary (Northington) Shelley.  He married Judi Barton on September 23, 1989.  

 

   Brock graduated from AIC college with a business degree. In 1965 he joined the National Guard. He continued to work on the family Gladiolus farm "Edge Water Farms" during and after serving his country.  Then he spent 34 years working for NWSW as a truck driver until he retired.  He loved spending the winter months at his home in Vero Beach, Florida.  He was an avid model train collector and enjoyed spending the summer days tending to his yard.  The gladiolus flower is said to symbolize honor, character, faithfulness, sincerity, integrity and never giving up.  He embodied all of these qualities. He will be forever missed but never forgotten.

 

   Survivors include his wife Judi; two daughters Jenny (Dan) Rodriguez, and Tori Shelley both of Sterling; step-children Debbie (Richard) Palmer, and Ed Hnetkovslky; seven grandchildre Jordan Rodriguez, Adrian Rabadan, Reina Rabadan, Marcus Rabadan, Jesse Moncivias, Jenessa Moncivias, and Frank Hnetkovsky; seven great-grandchildren Aleecia, Isaias, Saree, Adrian, Josiah, Damian, and Myra.

 

   Brock was preceded in death by his parents.
