Obituary of Stephen Garcia

Stephen Mitchell Garcia, 32 of Rockford IL, passed away on April 15th, 2023 at UW Madison Hospital in Madison WI. Stephen was born on July 13th, 1990 to Isaul Garcia and Sarah Garcia in Sterling IL. He was very active in the gaming community. Stephen had Autism and was disabled and lived his whole life at home with his mother, Sarah. He was just a loving big kid. He loved computer games, anime, family, friends and his cat. 

Stephen is survived by his parents Sarah Garcia of Rockford IL, Isaul Garcia of Rock Falls IL,  his sister Nichole (Aaron) Holden of Poplar Grove IL, his 2 nieces Alyssa and Emily Duffy(Nichole) of Poplar Grove IL. He also has many aunts, uncles and cousins. 

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Vernon Griffith, his paternal grandparents: Amalia Garcia and Manuel Garcia, his maternal aunt Karen Clark, maternal uncle Howard “Lee” Clark and paternal uncles Julio Garcia, and Charles David Garcia. 

Visitation of the cremains and to pay your respects to the family will be held on April 29th, 2023 at the Schilling Funeral Home in Sterling IL from 11am-1pm.
