Obituary of Dennis Robert Becker

Dennis Robert Becker, 83, of Morrison, died Monday, May 15, 2023 at Allure of Prophetstown.

   Dennis was born February 29, 1940 in Freeport, the son of Robert and Verline (Smith) Becker. He married Barbara Beattie on April 26, 2015 in Clinton, IA. Dennis owned and operated a handyman and lawn mowing business, he really enjoyed helping people. He also loved traveling with his wife and camping, where he was a campground host. He also worked for the Department of Natural Resources at the lake.

   Survivors include his wife, Barbara of Morrison; one daughter, Tammy Becker of Morrison; one son, Jeff Becker; five step-children, Charles Young of Whitehall, Lisa Young of Paris, IL, Ronda Young of Mt. Morris, Ginger Young of Potosi, MO and Kevin Wiersema of Fond du Lac, WI and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

   He was preceded in death by his first wife, Carol Noenke; one sister, Vicky Mann and two brothers, Bob and John Becker and his beloved Jack Russell, Libby.

   Celebration of Life will be held at 11 AM Saturday, May 20, 2023 at Living Bread Fellowship  1003 Griswold Avenue, Sterling with Pastor Randy Osborn, officiating. Visitation will be from 10-11AM, prior to services. Cremation rites have been accorded.

   A memorial has been established.

   Arrangements were completed by Schilling Funeral Home, Sterling.
