Obituary of Beverly J. Irwin

   Beverly J. Irwin died on June 20, 2023. She was 87 years old. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Irwin. June 23 would have been their 67th anniversary.

   Beverly is survived by her four daughters: Debra DeCarli (Bob); Renae Irwin; Susan Goluszka (Rick); and Jeanne Goluszka (Rob). She was a loving grandmother to her eight grandchildren, Robert Shiekh (Kelly); Sarina King (Andrew); Michael Shiekh; Cayla Goluszka; Jake Goluszka; Alex Johnston; Elizabeth Goluszka; Charlie DeCarli; and her two great-grandchildren, Petra and Zara King. 

   Born in Sterling as Beverly Russell, she grew up in the Sterling area and graduated from Milledgeville High School in 1954. Beverly is preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Annetta Russell. Her six brothers and three sisters were Lawrence Russell, Jr., Lavonne Miller, Dorothy Whitley, Donna Caudillo, Roland Russell, David Russell, Daniel Russell, Eddie Russell and Dale Russell. 

   After high school, Beverly joined the U.S. Air Force, where she met and married Bobby. They moved back to Sterling soon after they were married, where they raised their daughters. Beverly also worked for Sears service department for many years. 

   All her life, Beverly went above and beyond to care for others. She was the fabric that held her immediate and extended family together. She was dearly loved and will be missed.   

   A celebration of Beverly Irwin’s life will be held at Schilling Funeral Home in Sterling on Sunday afternoon, June 25, 2023 from 1:00PM –2:00PM, immediately followed by military honors. In Beverly’s memory, she and her family would be honored to have gifts made in her memory to Rock River Hospice in Sterling or the local American Legion chapters.
