FRANCIS NEiL BREED PEORIA - Francis N. Breed, 77, of Peoria, formerly of Sterling, died Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at Methodist Medical Center, Peoria. He retired from lllinois Bell where he was employed as a foreman and supervisor. Francis was born October 31, 1935 in Sterling, to Edgar and Edna (Thompson) Breed. He served in the United States Army. Francis married Alice Wagenknecht on September 30, 1956 in Sterling at St. Paul Lutheran Church. She preceded him in death on August 30, 1992. Survivors include one daughter, Sheri Hammitt of Peoria; one son, Brian (Frannie) Breed of Peoria, AZ; one brother, Dale (Marion) Breed of Sterling; significant other, Darlene Zachman; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was also preceded in death by one child in infancy and two brothers, Royal and Tracy Breed. Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon, Saturday, February 9, 2013 at the Schilling Funeral Home in Sterling with Pastor Stephen Barnes of Salem Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be at Oak Knoll Memorial Park Sterling. Visitation will be from 11AM-12PM prior to services at the funeral home. A memorial has been established.
