REMEMBERING

Gloria Jean Anderson

January 31, 1942 – September 14, 2023

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our mom, Gloria Jean Anderson.  Born in Oak Park, IL, she moved to Harvard where she spent her childhood. She had a love for horses from working in the stables, to riding her beloved horse whenever she could. She met Paul Anderson in school and, after marriage, moved to Belvidere, IL where they raised their three daughters. Gloria worked for GTE and then moved to Sterling to become the office manager for her brother’s company, Micro Industries. She had a passion for travel and enjoyed her trips to Australia, New Zealand, Bahamas, Hawaii and loved her mystery trips and annual Florida trip. She loved to dance and was a sharp dresser (always)! If you had the opportunity to be at any party or get together with our mom, you were lucky enough to have a drink, a joke, and a laugh with her.

She will be missed by so many including those she left behind, three daughters; Michelle Slove, Tamara (Howard) Boyd, Paulette (Dan) Heney, seven grandchildren; Sean (Lillian) Gilley, Ashley (Austin) Pachucki, Aimee (Jonah) Johnson, Quinton Heney, Rylee Boyd, Chloe Boyd, and Spencer Heney, and three great grandchildren Mira Pachucki, Jolene Gilley and Kade Pachucki.

She was preceded in death by her longtime partner, Bob Damewood, parents Charles Robinson and Helen Thorpe; and one brother Terry (Charles) Robinson and sister-in-law Barb Robinson.

We would like to thank the nurses at CGH and Rock River Hospice for the care, compassion and support shown to our mom and family during this difficult time.

In lieu of flowers please send memorials to Rock River Hospice and Home.

Private graveside services will be held on Saturday September 30, 2023 at Mt. Auburn Cemetery, Harvard.

Condolences may be sent to schillingfuneralhome.com
