Obituary of Jack Dietz

     William “Jack” Dietz, 90, peacefully passed away at home on September 17, 2023.

     Jack was born and resided in Harmon, IL, the son of William and Ethel (Parker) Dietz, June 1933. He began farming in Lee County at age 16 and farmed till his passing. Jack will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather and uncle, a dedicated farmer, and a dear friend to many. He enjoyed any kind of dancing, riding motorcycles, pickleball, volleyball and playing games with family and friends. Jack loved Christ, his heavenly father, and will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know him. He was a rock for many and passionate about leading others to the Lord and mentoring young men to become not only farmers, but fishers of men.

     Survivors include three sons, Terry Dietz of Bryan, TX, Craig Crane of Guatemala, and Brian (Nikki) Crane of Bloomer, WI; five daughters, Lynetta (Dan) Ribordy of Deer Grove, Sherry Escalante of Bryan, TX, Jody (Robin) Martindale of Bryan, TX, Carla Crane of Manitowish Waters, WI, and Renae (Doug) Risch of Chippewa Falls, WI; many grand and great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.

     He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Gloria J. Dietz; parents William and Ethel Dietz; sisters Leota Johnson and Wilma Blackorby; brothers Bud Dietz and Mick Dietz. 

   Memorial service will be held at 11AM Wednesday September 20, 2023 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Rock Falls, with Pastor Daniel Behmlander, officiating. There will be no visitation. Burial will be at Walnut Cemetery in Walnut IL at a later date.

     A memorial has been established to the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Rock Falls, Illinois.
