Obituary of Maria De La Luz Pena

 Maria Pena, 89, of Sterling died Sunday February 4, 2024 at Rock River Hospice & Home surrounded by family. Maria was born July 25, 1934 in Cerralvo Nuevo Leon Mexico the daughter of Reynaldo and Silvestra (Gomez) Trevino.  She married Atanacio Pena on September 12, 1952.

   Surviviors include six daughters Diana Pena, Delia Rivera, Minerva Ferrel, Esmeralda (Jesus) Roman, Norma (Mario) Medina, and Loraen (Pedro) Romo; one son Reynaldo Pena; twenty two grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. 

   Maria was preceded in death by her parents; husband Atanacio; three brothers and two sisters. 

   Mass of The Christian Burial will be 1PM Saturday February 10, 2024 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Sterling. Visitation will be prior to Mass from 10:30AM-12:30PM Saturday February 10, 2024 at Schilling Funeral Home & Cremation in Sterling. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Sterling. 

   A memorial has been established.
