NARCISO A. PUENTES SR. STERLING- Narciso A. Puentes Sr., died Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at CGH Medical Center. He was employed for 44 years until his retirement, at Northwestern Steel and Wire Company. Narciso was born October 29, 1934 in San Benito, TX, the son of Leandro G. and Ventura (Aguilar) Puentes. He married Irma Rodriguez on September 14, 1954 in Sterling. Narciso was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. Survivors include his wife Irma, one son Narcisco (Betti) Puentes, Jr, of Sterling; two daughters, Diana (William) Fichtenmueller and Elva Puentes, both of Sterling; two sisters Eva Gallegos of Sterling and Eduvina Suarez of Independence, LA; three grandchildren, Jasmine (Gordon Harris) Fichtenmueller, Aja (Juan) Monarrez and Carynn Puentes and four great grandchildren, Xia and Nia Harris and Santiago and Piper Monarrez. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Magdalena Lerma and Soila Olalde and three brothers, Mario, Adan and Roberto. Funeral service will be held at 1 PM Monday, March 11, 2013 at the Schilling Funeral Home, Sterling, with Pastor Paul Sheley, of One Eighty Church, Sterling, officiating. Visitation will be from 2-4 PM Sunday at the funeral home. Cremation rites will been accorded. A memorial has been established. Condolences may be sent to schillingfuneralhome.com.
