Obituary of Ramiro Escobedo

   Ramiro G. Escobedo, 72, of Sterling, Illinois, passed away on September 3rd, 2024, surrounded by the women he cherished most – his four daughters and his loving wife of 51 years, Esmeralda. Born on December 7th, 1951, Ramiro was a devoted family man and proud father to Lori (Doug) Ackland, Sonja (Robert) Shear, Maggie (Shad) Bailey, and Christy (Jeff) Toennies. He embraced his role as "Papa" to Makaylie, Austyn, Indie, Aaron, Camden, Karsyn, Brecklyn, and Fischer, and great-grandpa to Baker and Madden, sharing his love and joy with them all.

  After retiring from Northwestern Steel & Wire, Ramiro enjoyed cheering for his Dallas Cowboys and spending time with his family. He was known for his kindness and fun-loving spirit.

   Ramiro is survived by his siblings Becky Bonvillion , Ricky Escobedo, and Renee Escobedo, and is now reunited with his parents, Juanita and Reynaldo Escobedo Sr., as well as his brother, Reynaldo Escobedo Jr.

    Join us to celebrate Ramiro’s life on September 28th, 2024, with visitation from 12 pm to 3 pm at Schilling Funeral Home. A service will follow. In lieu of flowers, a Memorial Fund has been set up in his name.
